ABS System

I recently got financed on a 09 Nissan Versa 1.8 Hatchback, but it did not have the ABS package on it. This really worries me not so much for myself, but other drivers in the family. I asked the dealer if it would be possible to add on later and havent recieved an answer....so wondering guys - is it possible to get the ABS added on later on?

Someone else had the same question before. I can't remember their answer but hopefully they can answer for you.
ABS isn't a simple "add on." Installing ABS onto a non-ABS vehicle is a major replacement of components, such as calipers, lines, cylinders, ECM, and assemblies. Could've looked over your build sheet to make sure it had ABS in the first place :|

LOL, can't help, but redirect :p
Didnt have much choice in the matter of picking vehicles, trust me I looked over the included features. And I'm in the South, not really worried about freezes or anything like that, but have a fiance who hasnt ever been behind the wheel of a Non-ABS vehicle. I tend to just try and play it safe. keep 3-4 car lengths behind when I can, and I know its gonna be alot of stuff that changes, I'm just wondering if anyone has done this.

On this forum, I don't think anyone has. Sorry.
I don't think anyone has had ABS added to their cars. Seems like it would be a pretty pricy add-on. The best advice I think anyone could give would be to just check with your dealer and get the prices. I'm sure it'll will be pretty expensive as well.

Best of luck to you though!
Its an $800 package here, ABS, VDC, TCS, EBD, ABC, 123, TTYL, LOL, LMAO, WTF. There have been moments where I hoped to have ABS, like abrupt braking from idiots darting from their lane without a signal and not checking their blindspot. I just throw my can of pop onto their wifes lap to fix that :D
Thanks guys, the dealership said they would get back to me about price on Monday but it all depended if their head tech came in or was sent out to their other dealership. I'm not expecting to get it right off the bat, I mean its hard enough in this US economy to make payments and hold full coverage insurance. Hopefully the dealership will have the info for me Monday, and I'll update everyone here on average price in SouthE US.

$800??? I got mine with ABS Package and on the sticker price on it says $250. Wow!!! I have a friend of mine that works for a honda and acura dealership as a mechanic, I asked him about putting ABS on my 00 camry LE, and he said, honestly, its better to just trade it in, and get a car with it. Its not worth the price nor effort. I hope this helps, and hope maybe its really not gonna be that bad for you. I also own an 09 versa.

Ya seems like it would be a huge hassle to add it on aftermarket if so many items have to be replaced.

It is nice to have. It's kicked in a few times in the winter for me.

oh yeah!! Mine kicks in all the time in the winter, theres not a stop in the winter I dont feel it kicking in. It seems to kick in in the fall too. When it rains, and leaves are covering up the road, the brakes seem to lock up on those leaves, and I hear that CLUNK, CLUNK, ohh, there goes my ABS again, lol. But I wish sometimes there was a way to turn it off in the winter, so when I wanna have some fun, and can go for it. Thats the one good thing about my 00 camry in the winter, that thing was a tank in snow, and I could spin, slide, etc, all I wanted cause nothing was preventing it to stop. Like traction control has a button, so when u wanna burn some rubber, just turn it off, lol.
