Hello,
I took a drive to Mexico and had a grand time. On my way back the bridge was super crowded and it took me about 3 1/2 hours to cross it. I never turned off the car while waiting to cross and since it was a nice day; the A/C was not turned on. Once I crossed the border and got on the freeway, I rolled up the windows and turned on the A/C. At first the A/C ran fine but I noticed that as I accelerated the A/C stopped blowing cold air. The volume of air coming out of the vents never changed, only the temperature. I pulled over at a fast food joint and rested the car for about an hour. I started the car and got on my way on the freeway. The A/C was behaving the same way as i first described. After maybe 30 minutes of high way speeds, the A/C ran fine for the rest of the trip. Has anyone experienced this as well? I bought this car new but my wife did most of the driving. I now have this car as my daily driver and I need A/C here in Texas. Please help.
Thanks,
Miguel

I would start with the basics... check the freon level. if you do not a good gage, take it somewhere and let them check it for you. this reminds me, I need to check mine just to make sure is fully charged and the compressor has oil and no seals leaking

Thanks Blu, I did a quick visual inspection and I don't see any signs of leakage but I will take the V to get inspected. Thanks for your input with this matter.

No problem man,

before I do anything to mine, I'm going to get me a AC Vent thermometer

and see if it gets down to 45F using recycle mode and #3 speed :thumb2:

I turned the AC on today on my way to work and it was fine

ohh you might want to get your windows tinted, because it will reduce the heat from the sun when it gets too hot outside, that helps a lot :thumb2:
Plus, I think Versas have big windows :biggrinjester:

I'll get a gage tomorrow

Yo!

As I stated last night, I got the thermometer AC Vent :gnorsi:

and before the AC was turned on the temperature read 80F degrees
then I turned the AC on and the temperature dropped down to 40F degrees

so I think My AC is fine. I took pictures and will post later :gnorsi:

My vent readings were just about the same. I just don't know why when I accelerated or went over an overpass the A/C stopped blowing cold.

I noticed that if I don't rev the rpm, the temperature of the A/C won't go down to 40 degrees.
