Altima 3.5 SR or Mazda3 Speed?

Which vehicle should my dad get? He's been talking about getting a new car sometime next year hasn't come to any conclusions but has been talking about the Altima alot. It's a family car, plenty of space, but the M3S seems more fun to drive.

The M3S has a 2.5L engine with stock Turbo, but the Altima 3.5 SR is a V6 non turbo. Both vehicles has about the same amount of features from what I researched.

the mazda3 hatch (speed or "i" package) is a DOOPPPEEEE car. I love em.
depends on your dads preference... altima is bigger and ride is not harsh :p
what i can tell you about the altima. fun ride fun handling good factory stereo comfortable seats and pretty easy to work on for maintenance back seat is for people under 5feet tall and skinny. smooth ride. think i just about covered it for my test drive and maintenance dealings with it.

wow......sounds like the v has more rear seat room. if i tagged my v i would plate it 'mini limo' funny but true. technology says it's a sin that a mid size car has less rear seat room than a subcompact. especially one from the same carmaker. that's embarrassing. is it just me or does the yaris look smaller everytime you see one.

Ya, when I sit in the back of my brother's Sentra SE-R, my knees touch the back of his seats. However, even w/ my V's front seats all the way back, my knees don't touch the back of the seats.

His car just has more trunk space than my Versa.
If its a new 3, stay away those clown face cars are ugly as fuck

hahahaha

That's the one thing I do not like about the 2010 models. The smile does not appeal to me :(

I prefer the older models ... 2009 model year and earlier look nice and sporty.
agreed but the speed3 is still such a sick car.. 260 horse, 280 torque stock i believe
both horsepower ratings are about the same... the curb weight on 3.5SR with 6 speed manual comes in at about 3,294 and 3,333 for CVT model... i looked and looked on the mazada site and they didnt post any kind of curb weight for the Speed3, the Altima coupe has way more available features but the Speed3 fully loaded goes for about $26,410 as opposed to a fully loaded Altima coupe which is priced at $34,070. Not to say that the Mazda isn't a great car, but the VQ series has really been doing well for Nissan in recent years, and with a few minor upgrades you will be able to pass the Speed3 in the power department. so my vote goes to the Altima coupe, but it what it really comes down to is how many of these features do you really need in your car? i could live with out the leather and full entertainment package, which would take a big chunk out of the price.... good luck with the final decision... hope this helped you and your dad in some way or another
