I got 37 mpg on my 8th tank, doing 80% highway. I'm on my 10th tank with only 3300 miles on the OD. Once I'm at around 10K, I can see my V getting 40+ mpg easily...!!! And that's IF my engine is fully broken in by then... my old car started getting its best fuel economy at 25K.

- neutral to stoplights, stop signs, and exit ramps
- turn on car, drive immediately
- 65 on the highway, 70 max

Versa engine is amazingly frugal.

John your mileage out of your 1.8 is very amazing. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you will get 40mpg no problem.

This engine is amazing. It's not very refined. It's loud, but that might be due to the nature of it being an economy car and thus, lower levels of sound dampening materials. It whistles and whines (miraculously disappeared when the service guy drove it) and when I turn it off, it sounds like a flock of dying pigeons. But I can't argue the results. 37 is amazing.

Lol. I had the sound shield added by the dealer as it was part of my extended warranty. My cabin noise in the city and on the freeway is minimal. My relatives more expensive cars have more road noise then my Versa. My last tank I got almost 29 mpg. Almost all city with ac and no special way of driving. Lol.

Hmm... my current tank is looking to be a crappy one... only 198 miles and it's already near the halfway mark. I'm usually at around 250 miles with one full click to the halfway mark. Nice blend of City and Highway driving, too, so I don't know what's up.
