Any idea what is this for?

I was exploring under the dashboard of my car earlier and saw this connector underneath the stearing wheel beside the gas pedal. It is not connected to anything so I dont know what this is all about.
Can anyone spare some time to identify this, and for what?

this is connected to a/c acompressor

It says it should be connected to the thermo control amp but I dont have anything that resembles a TCA. I don't know why but I really dont have it as i've checked under it, beside it and anything between it.

It's cost prohibited to make a wire loom for each conceivable combination of option so manufacturers make a loom that fits all and don't use what isn't needed.

The fewer options the more empty plugs you have.

My wifes last car had wiring going to the doors even though there was nothing electrical in any of the doors.
