Asking for a friend.

Friend has rental property, property manager and month to month renter. Bankruptcy people say not to worry, property manager wants a termination agreement signed holding them liable for nothing and immediately its effective. Friend wants to know since she is giving up property should she see the property is vacated, photo it, change locks or just forgetaboutit?

Bankruptcy lawyer cant advise as hes not property lawyer.

Sounds like a difficult position to be in and even worse for the renter if everyone quits communicating or they could live there rent free til the bank checks it out and finds it occupied.

I have no personal experience with this type of issue, but this web page seems to have an extensive list of items to check out pertaining to renters "rights":
