I got busy with other things so I was not able to order the fog lamp kit yet however, I saw it being sold for less than $200 + shipping at nissannewparts.com which is actually a Nissan dealer in Texas.

According to this instructions:
http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/asistgc_1/diskdocs/1/U/A/1UA14.PDF
the kit (with the part number I noted earlier) contains everything needed to install.

I'll let you know if I finally get to it!
Does that store ship to different places or is it just order and pick it up there?

I live in Michigan and the parts were shipped from Texas via UPS. If I remember right, I had to pay for shipping though. You can also buy the kit from your local Nissan dealer and pick it up there. The website I quoted had the lowest price at the time I bought them. You may want to Google the PN to see who has the lowest price.

I live in Puerto Rico so I don't know if Nissan would ship to me

I'd say just ask. The selling dealer is the one shipping not Nissan, so each dealer may have different shipping policies. Doesn't hurt to ask. Based on my eBay experience, if I remember right shipping to PR is usually no extra charge or very minimal additional charge.

Are the Nissan Note fog lamps tied in with the headlights?

Since our Note will be a commuter along the I-5 in San Diego, there's a great potential for fog so this thread has been really, really helpful!

Question is: Can the fogs be turned-on independently of the headlights?

I drove a friend's E-series Mercedes Benz that the fogs had a switch that went on no matter what the headlights were doing. My Subarus only let them turn on when the headlights were on.

If they're independent of the headlights, I could see the dual purpose of using them as a pseudo DRL.

The OEM fogs I installed on my SV only work with the low beams on. Yes, it a bummer since you cannot use them as pseudo DRLs.

Somewhat disappointing since my other cars allowed fog lamp operation with just the park lights on.

BTW the fog lamp performance is a bit marginal but better than nothing.

So I finally found the time to install my Fog Lamp Kit (PN 999L1-4Z000) and boy what an ordeal. I must be getting old for this. I guess it wasn't all that bad only two broken tabs, a small cut on one hand, and a whole bunch of scratches on my arms.

Since most of the body parts are just snapped together, this was the most difficult part of the project, not knowing if you are going to break anything while you pull things apart. It took a lot of patience to get it done.

The Nissan PDF instructions I found from the web were not too descriptive and in most cases the car is not symmetrical. Accessibility on the right side was much easier than on the left.

Overall, it turned out great, even got a surprise new feature for my wipers.

TOOK ME OVER 3 HOURS JUST TO GET TO THIS POINT

BACK SIDE OF RADIATOR FRONT COVER

BACK SIDE OF GRILL

CLOSE UP OF GRILL ATTACHING POINTS ON BUMPER

RIGHT SIDE DONE

BOTH SIDES DONE, GRILL REINSTALLED

As I mentioned in another posting, the kit came with Variable Time Intermittent Wiper Feature which I was not expecting at all.
thank you for the pics, i was working on my wife's note sv i hopes of installing the nissan fog kit from amazon and i ran into some issues that i was hoping you could answer.. first off, you were right about the difficulty and time it takes in just removing the grill and over from the bumper, especially with out breaking anything...
can i ask to make sure, the amazon kit, is it compatible with the Note SV model? the reason i ask is in my next frustration, i couldn't find the wiring i was suppose to for the fog lights that the instructions mention.. please any guidance, pics or comments would help greatly... thanks

I don't like how the OEM fog lights work, it would be better just to get the signal assembly and aftermarket(think Hella Micro DE) fog lights, that would put much MORE light on the road.

If you have a SV model, it should already pre-wired in your car. Plugs should already be equipped. Both jas32 and I have a SV model as well and these models are prewired.. unless you have a S model
I haven't done mine yet but it should be straight forward..

The part number sold on Amazon appears to be the same as the kit I bought from a Nissan dealer. The pictures that Midnight posted confirms that as well.

I have a 2014 SV and I assume you have an SV as well. There is an open connector behind the front bumper next to the driver side headlight. It is hidden somewhere in that area. Yes I agree it is quite difficult to find as everything is very tight in that area of the car. The connector plugs in to the harness that came with the kit. The harness feeds power to the left and right fog lights.

Estebinbin, I forgot to mention, if I remember right, the pigtail connector you are looking for is part of the wiring harness for the driver side headlight. I think what I did was to trace the wires going to the headlight and found the connector there.
