best way to break it in?
so ive heard alot about how to break in new cars-- from things like
- keep it below 50 for 500 miles
- keep it below 65 for 1200 miles
- i am a beast so i kept it below 65 for 3000 miles
-keep it below 4000 rpm for 1200 miles
-keep it below 3000 rpm
-keep it below 2500 rpm
- just ask your grandma to drive it
and then of course.. "its broken in already, just go"
the manual basically just says keepit below 4000 rpm for 1200 miles. does that mean i can still go 65 as long as i acclerate slowly?
clarify please SO. ladies and gents of the new 2012, whaddya say? whats the best way i can make sure i have this baby healthy as long as possible?

its been since 07 since I had to do the break-in on my old V, but if i remember correctly it was pretty simple.
- dont go over 4k rpm
- dont stay @ the same speed for long periods of time (highway trips doing 60 for an hour etc)
those are really the only main things I remember doing, some people probably do it some people probably have no idea they are supposed to and dont ever do it... lllol

lol!!! I remember my Versa, it was my first new car, and I think within 30 mins it had gone to 6K like twice, and it was fine, lol!!!
I read the same breaking in instructions in my new versa's manual. We got it mainly for our daughter to drive back to school (a four hour drive on the interstate) and she will be leaving in a week. But we only have about 200 miles on it right now, not near 1200 yet. How bad will it be if she drives it back before the break in period is over?
Don't tach out the engine over 4K. for the first 1200 miles.
Vary the speeds so your not having the car at the same speed for long periods of time same for the engine running for any rpm for a long period of time so the piston rings break in properly due to heat ranges.
Before you know it you'll be at the 1200 mile mark in no time.

im actually using it to drive TO school; i commute and needed a car to get to college so the versa was my option
i guess as warrior said, as long she tries to vary the speed a bit and keeps the rpm below 4k. so far, when i drive mine to school i try to keep the mph below 50, ha its hard, but i heard its worth it.
I remember breaking in my Versa when it was new, didn't rev the engine hard just took it easy. You should be fine.
