I have a 2012 versa sv with about 36000 miles on it. When ever I am driving and apply the brakes, the shift indicator on the dash either blinks once or continue blinks until I let off the brake.
Also today on the way to work, I stopped at a red light and the engine shuttered, like it was going to die, the check engine light came on but it drove fine. Once I got to work I checked the air filter and that was dirty. On the way home bought filter.
I also checked obd and it came up with p0705. Don't really know what that code is but I reset the computer and see what happens later.
Any thoughts if it is a bad cvt, sensor or something else.

Trans range sensor circuit. Could be the sensor or could be a trans or wiring fault, the ECM has at some point found trans in not in a gear (spinning as fast or slow as it needs to be) the switch says it is.

But what does it mean when I apply the brakes that the drive selector on that dash blinks? Today it did it a few times.

'...could be a trans or wiring fault...'

The answer has not changed even with you jumping over it...................many answers are inexact without testing to bear then out or reject them.

CVT? My honda tranny computer was independent from the rest of the car. If you had a tranny problem the D on the dash not the shifter blinked when the car was started. You need a different diagnostic computer to get those codes or use the blink method.

May need to see a deal or a tranny specialist. My dealer charges 63 bucks to diagnose and applies that to fixing it if you let them do the work.

Problem solved. Got another check engine light, called dealer to make an appointment. Tech saw this problem before. Turns out it was condensation in the brake lights. CPU sense a voltage difference and got confused and said it was a sensor. Tech changed the light bulbs and that fixed it.

Glad to see that your issue was a quick fix. With my 2012 versa SV, when stopped at a traffic light, I started hearing a thumping sound like the one you would get if your emergency brake was stuck and then let go. Car would then drove as usual until it came to a stop again. At first, it did not throw a code, but then code P0705 came up. My 5 year warranty was going to expire in two days, so I brought it into the dealer to have them check it out. Service rep said it was diagnosed as a faulty flow control valve in transmission, and that it would be replaced under warranty. Got a call about 2 hours after dropping the car off, and the service rep stated that Nissan wanted the entire CV transmission changed out rather than just making the repair under warranty. Picked up the car the next day, and everything is fine, plus I have another 12 months or 12,000 mile extended warranty.
