Can anyone with the type B radio (part #PN-3653 I think) in a 2017 nissan versa confirm that it will stream bluetooth audio from a phone. I had read a couple of the radio swap threads and it didn't seem to cover this. The video on nissans youtube channel
says that you can get to the streaming functionality by pressing the aux button multiple times until bluetooth audio is displayed.

If the radio does stream, is it a simple swap(I have the type A radio in the S plus versa) since it isn't like switching to the double din radio discussed in other threads.

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find it when I did a search.

Thanks

After searching again, I found some threads that seem to tell me a swap won't work. But if anyone has anything to add, please do so.

It was my understanding to stream audio you need either an aux cable and plug it into your ear phone jack or plug in a bluetooth receiver into the aux jack by a cable. Thats what I do as most phones will support multiple bluetooth devices.

Otherwise you need an aftermarket unit. Then you loose steering wheel controls as Ive been told by crutchfield an adapter isnt available.

Yeah I use the aux jack to listen to to music on my phone. I was just a little hopeful because the video specifically says that you can stream with the "type b" radio, which it looks like you get with the SV model. And since it looked pretty basic (no big display or nav), I was hoping it would be a simple swap. Now I'm assuming it's probably more involved maybe because of the bluetooth module.

I mean its not a huge deal to plug in to the aux jack or even get one of these https://www.amazon.com/FIREFLY-Smallest-Bluetooth-Receiver-Streaming/dp/B01HDOWT0Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1522876786&sr=8-3&keywords=TUNAI+FIREFLY&dpID=41xzn-JvrXL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch. I was just hoping there was a cleaner solution.

I was honestly hoping that this would work as well. I have a 2015 Versa S Base model. I updated my stereo to this model (28185-9MC1A), as well as the Bluetooth module as well, and sad to say, it didn't work out. I think the plus to my solution is that I got a USB port, but the Bluetooth streaming didn't work. That video also had me hyped up that I would be able to stream, but I guess Nissan is wrong. I'm almost tempted to go to a Nissan dealership and ask if this is even possible.
