My car was in a wreck in late 2009. It was my dad's car till recently and when it finally got put back together my dad had to have it for work. So as my dad started driving the car the paint on the front end started to disapear as well. Now today March 23 he tells me he can't do nothing about it that will make it look better and if he did he would have to charge me for it. Now is he correct? Thanks!

I'd contact my insurance and ask them what my options are. Can you put it through insurance again (perhaps have a different body shop quote it or give their opinion). I think if it was fixed that long ago (2009) that it's too late to make a complaint now in 2011. Did you notice things right away about the paint? Did they forget a clear coat?
Well he just said since it is rock chip damage he can't do nothing about it. But soon after the paint started to fall off my dad decided to put a paint sealent on it. I don't think that caused any of this it's just frustrating I had to deal with a freckled car lol.
Ya that does suck ... Not sure why it turned out that way or the method they used to paint it. Is it a reputable body shop?
It's a local small town body shop. Allied insurance were the ones who reccomend it so we have contacted them and that I wasn't happy about the job.
That's terrible, I hope you get it fixed. I asked my insurance company State Farm about repairs. They stated repairs would be good for as long as I owned the car and if anything repair related went wrong to take it back and have them fix it for free. If your company implemented the same policy and if the car has now changed owners you could end up stuck with either using your insurance to cover it or having to pay out yourself. You'd be best asking your insurance company if the body shop is required to stand by it's work when they fixed your car even if it's changed owners. I've had chips in my old car from stones on the road and never had the paint come away before.

Well here are some updates! (sorry for the late reply) He ended up fixing a bunch of areas that needed to be fixed with some paint. So that made me pretty happy he just wasn't going to repaint the front cover of the car.
