I have the 2014 Nissan Versa Note with the CVT at 114k miles and its just beginning to indicate shuddering at the transmission. Can I swap out the CVT trans for a new Versa 4 speed auto or do I have to stick with the same trans type I now have . . . . . . anybody know?

A bit more detail: your 2014 Versa Note has an ECM that is programmed to support a CVT tranny. It won't accept a change to a standard auto or manual tranny. Depending on how bad the symptoms are, I'd try to repair your current CVT before pulling it.

The actual transmission case and cooler line routing on the last generation of the 4AT (2014-2017) is the same/similar to the CVT of that era.

Regardless, there will be computer and potential wiring differences and the floor shifter is different between the 4at and CVT.

This isn't just a transmission swap and done type of project.
