I heard that the 6 sp and the CVT used different sizes but if one is a perfect fit that's good news, thanks.I replaced my factory battery last summer, and I replaced it with one from Costco. I just checked what the book said in the battery isle, purchased that size, and it fit perfectly.
It's a nice car but not enough overdrive. I'd like to get my hands on the boob that designed the transmission ratios.Another 6 speed SL! Nice! I have an 07 too!
The spring perch sounds like it might be right. The edge of the tread is the other point.Between the rubber and the spring holder? What dimension are you talking about? Between the sidewall and the spring perch on the strut?
The gearing is what makes a 6 speed sort of peppy, or at least adequate for city driving. I don't understand how the CVT/Auto guys drive these things around, a 1.8 let alone a 1.6, gutless gutless gutless!
Did you go in for the upper strut bearing involuntary recall?
So... you're mostly starting out in second gear because 1st is basically useless?Just like 1st is basically useless.
Too old to care. I just want more overdrive in my Versa 6 sp.Are you a through and through muscle guy though? Whats your oppinion on the popularity of imports in the car scene, and all these new stupid ricer trends (stance, nonsense paint jobs, anime garbage)?
Thanks Frank. This sounds like the way to go but I want to get the Costco 51R battery for $80.I needed a new battery for my 2009 Versa S with MT-6 a couple of months ago. I was unable to find a battery with the correct length! The height and width were fine. The replacement batteries were all about 1" longer so I was unable to close up the battery heat shield so I left the open gap on the side away from the engine. My local NAPA dealer had the best price for the 7590 battery. The longer battery fits fine in the battery tray. Double check the length of your old battery and I believe the 51R is also longer than the original so the battery heat shield will not close up around the battery.
