I took it as if the car starts and runs fine but won't shut down when turning the key to the off position and he has to disconnect the battery to get the engine to shut down.
Having the same problem with a 2017 Versa. The engine won't shut off with the key. Driver has to pop the clutch to kill it then remove a battery cable to keep the battery from discharging. I have read Nissan had a recall on ignition switches that had this defect. I can't find that article and dealer says they nothing about an ignition recall.
Thousands of Nissan vehicles are being recalled due to defective ignition switches which could cause the vehicles to stall, increasing the risk of an auto accident.
Use our VIN lookup tool to check for recalls on your car, or search by make and model. Also, get recall information on car seats, tires and equipment.
