I have found several locations with instructions to see what code is causing the engine light to be on and they are all the same - turn on ignition, wait 3 seconds, depress and release accelerator pedal fully 5 times within 5 seconds, wait another 7 seconds and then hold accelerator down for 10 seconds to reach diagnostic mode and then light will blink out codes.

I cannot get this to work on my 2015 Versa SV - is there another procedure? I'm using the 1001, 1002 counting method - do I need to be more precise and use a timer? I've done similar procedures on most makes of cars and feel silly that I cannot get this to work for me... Any advice?

Thanks,

you know i was kinda wonderin about this whole procedure it does seem kinda fishy wouldn't you think that by pressing the accelerator repeatedly like this would flood the engine i realize they are just reading the codes and not trying to start it but the whole pushing on the gas just does not sound right i could see doing like you do with a caravan you just click the keys on and off 3 times i mean maybe it does work but it just seems like it would not work to me
