Sometimes a gas cap not tightened properly can cause this?

Also, welcome to the forums!

Hmmmm just filled up today i will check it.Thanks
You can get a code from it (google how) pretty simple stuff. Or you can take it somewhere with a code reader for free.

But yeah, make sure your gas cap is on tightly.
Man that was it!!!:thumb2:put the gas cap on then drove it a few miles then the light went off. Thanks for your help.

Could this happen a few days after filling up? My light came on today and I was told to change the plugs. I have not check my fuel cap yet. I filled up two day ago.
Why would you buy a car with a computer that tells you what is wrong with it if you are going to listen to other people telling you what is wrong with it?

GET THE EXACT CODE OR FORGET ABOUT FIXING IT.

Where have you been, they teach that in school. The parts people may cost you a thousand dollars there.

Wow. Why so aggressive? I’m just looking for help. But, I will get the code. Thank you.
I just gave you more help than you could ask for. Top of the line premium stuff.

Introduction into the real world can often be harsh, I may have just saved you thousands and what I did in parts all day long. The uninformed are money trees waiting to be shaken of the dollar bills, and parts guys get incentives based on how hard they shake you. I watched guys that intentionally mis-steered customers to max advantage for themselves, and tried to get every one fired as fast as I could. The chains will give you 30 seconds speaking of honesty then grind you down every day demanding you toss any ideas of it into the trash.

Always look over the shoulder of the parts store guy reading your codes to see them for yourself and WRITE them down. I used to insist on customers doing it when I read codes and some even got mad until later they came back thanking me for pushing them into doing it. Nobody ever remembers the exact code the next day.

CJK,

Just get the code and we can provide some help. Auto parts stores like Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone will scan your car for free. Most garages will charge $50+ to scan the car.
Auto part stores will also give you a printout of scanned codes. Make sure you get one.
