Hi all,

My 2011 Versa has developed a chirping noise. It seems louder than before, and is only there when turning the car right. I do plan on asking the mechanic about it during the next oil change (soon) but just wanted to get an idea beforehand if anyone experienced something similar. Was thinking it could be the wheel bearing. Thanks for your help.

It sounds more like a bad CV joint/axle, although I would describe that noise as more of a click sound vs. a chirp.
In my experience, a bad wheel bearing is more of a whine noise.
I might start with a visual inspection of the CV joints, axles and boots (over the CV joints), then jack up the car and check for play in the wheel bearings and spin the wheels listening for noise.

There may be a problem with the steering gear, or the brake pads are worn out.

Chirping sound when turning steering relates to two reasons, first check the jumping and mounting of shocks and second due to worn out of two bushes which located in rod connected to two wheels..you have disconnect the steering connection with this rod and see it.

Yes, some cars got TSBs on the struts due to coil springs put in metal to metal instead of using a rubber insulator, they then make noise as the strut moves to sometimes pop the spring, it can sound like a chirp. The fix is to add the insulators back in they left off for a while trying to save more money for the CEO.
