Hello all, I have a 2012 versa auto with 15x,xxx miles. Need help. Had to replace battery because the old one was bad, before that had to jump it because it died. Jumper cables were not crossed. After I got battery replaced it started with a no start issue. I pulled codes with basic reader and it gave me code U0100 lost communication with ecu. After I erased them it ran fine for about 15 minutes then again no start no crank. All fuses are good. Looking for advise. Thanks

The starting point for you would be to check battery terminals and ground, then erase codes again, start the car, and measure voltage on the battery during idle, and under the load. It would check both your battery and the charging system. Bad battery can kill the alternator, and bad alternator can kill the battery. The resulting too low or too high voltage would mess up with the ECU.

All grounds are good, I should have said that before, battery is new and the car isn’t draining the battery. Only reason the car has the no start no crank, that I can see, is the code, U0100, which is intermittent. I’ve erased the code with my meter and by leaving negative cable unplugged for an hour or so, when code is erased then car will operate normally, until code comes up again. I’ve read that it may be the ecu but would really want to know definitely so I don’t replace/repair it for no reason, they are king of expensive. Thanks
