If you maintain the stock ride height then very likely you will keep a comfortable ride. If you lower it drastically then for sure it would not improve the ride quality, and possibly even make it worst than it is now. It all depends...
The spring rate factor of the coilovers would also contribute to your ride quality. The lower the spring rate, the more comfortable the ride. However, with a higher spring rate the handling would increase due to a firmer suspension (by reducing body roll).
