Although it seems like CD is beating up the versa in the review, they gave the V the award for best buy in the small car segment. The Altima dropped off as best buy this year, but I have seen tons of altimas and vs on the road. I went by the Jackson Ms. plant a week ago. That place is huge.

Nico has a habit of beating up the V pretty good. I figured I would update any prospective V owners that the car is the right choice.

Most magazines do bash the V and all I hear is "not as good as the Fit" all the time. But they win awards like this often and there are more V's then Fits on the road.

Not a fan of the Fit (otherwise I would have bought one). Hated the Yaris - waaaay too small and low to the ground. The V was and still is perfect for me! I am constantly amazed by how much stuff I can fit in the back of it. Perfect for trips to Ikea :)

I don't like the Fit either. Our Versa has much nicer curves to it! Looks great and drives even better :D

And the Yaris is adorable, but wayyyyy too small!

I recently removed the cargo liner from the hatch, and it fits so much more now. I like it better without the liner. :)

You came by work and never even honked? Shame. I could have said hello.

There's a reason 5,500 new Versas are sold every month and it has ~25% of the market.
One thing I noticed going through North Central Ms. was the number of Altimas on the road. A large amount. Also, are the other Nissan models made @ the Jackson plant. Like the Maxima. The more I look @ that car the more it looks like a premium brand car. Not just a high brand.

It's true though, I rarely ever see used Versa's in the car flyer that comes in our paper every week.Glad to hear it's selling. I keep seeing a fully loaded red V with tinted windows and hood deflector driving down my street at night. I wonder where it is going, and who is driving it. It is literally my car's twin (besides a few accessories).

i've read some stuff bashing on the base model v. Ive got the super base POS that they sell. its awesome, 13k miles in about 4 months. been to the dealer once for the steering joint thru the floor coming apart, i guess there was a little spring thing that popped out, but since the jackoff at the service department wouldn't show me the part, i couldn't post any pics

Same here, I wanted a hatchback for sure; if Nissan didn't have the Versa back then, I probably would have gone with a different hatchback.
Like I have covered before. I was moving to daytona beach. My outback was useless in florida. I shopped around for the best car for the lowest price with all the goodies. I thought it to be impossible. I almost bought a Rio lol. They are nice little cars but they are medium brand cars.The rio was 14,500. Plus all the small cars had a/c and radio optional. So I dug further. Googled small cars with standard air conditioning. Only the V had standard a/c. That was like a 800 to 1 grand savings. Plus the stock s model listed @ 12,400 I'm pretty sure. The first year V s model was 11,900. Also, Throw in the hatchback option with most other car models. It was like 500.00 plus and the V was 11,900 as a hatch. So I settled for the V because the options markup was non-existent. I bought a V with auto and the power group for 12,900. It was a factory preowned so it was covered pretty well. I am still happy with the decision. If I did want a sedan I would have bought a silver Sentra factory preowned. They are quick with the cvt and that color agrees with the dorky look lol.

There are alot of Subaru's in Colorado, it's practically Subbie country here, along with SUVs. You'll see an Outback at least 10 times in one day and the Legacy's about half that.

cost to own is the ONLY reason I bought a Versa. This car pays for itself practically. I plan on driving it until it dies.

i plan on driving mine til it dies then putting something faster in it lol. plan on keeping it for as long as it'll last and sporting it up some without sacrificing too many mpgs.. zippy DD with an occasional race here and there
