Those of you with CVT Versa's, what are some techniques you employ to get decent fuel economy and decent acceleration when required?
From a stop I like to take off slow than steadily push down the gas until I reach cruising speed such as 35 mph, then I like to let off the gas for a bit to let the RPMs drop slightly than reapply the gas gently to maintain that speed.
What you doing is a good way to get decent mileage, I would imagine the CVT is hard on gas due to the fact its ment to keep the car in its power range. Just drive slow, and you should have great results.
