Last week I had several posts regarding my 2009 Versa. The instrument cluster stopped working very suddenly. I tried the usual, fuses, connections, shorts, grounds, etc. None of which worked. Took it to the Stealership today and Tim, the service guy at Go Nissan Arapahoe in Centennial Colorado told me that the cluster was completely burned out, that it was $675 to replace, plus $185 diagonostic fee. Needless to say, I'll buy a Garmin and put gas in once a day. And, oh yeah, since the odometer is also gone, the value of the car for resale will be negatively affected and it will be disclosed on Carfax and my title at resale. Today my opinion of Nissan Versa...POS. Good thing I have a Toyota in the garage to fall back on!

$185 diagnostic fee is abyssmal. Many independent shops charge no fee. Used cluster should be easy to find, especially with CVT tranny[different display]. Ask independent mechanic the do's and don'ts of swapping cluster. Hope this helps. 08v

Since cluster gone and they can't prove mileage tell them you have less then 36k miles :D. Really though it stinks what your going through. Never seen a cluster go bad. Just grab a used one with similar mileage and swap it in. As long as it's higher then the last reported mileage on a carfax you will be all set. Inconvenience for sure but can easily be rectified.

My thoughts exactly...Mr. Dealership, you tell me how many miles are on it...you're the experts...Alternatively, I've been searching E-Bay and see that there are lots of clusters out of wrecked Versas...The real disappointment is that in the past two years between my wife and I we've spent over 60K at this dealership and they're willing to lose that business over a faulty part. But, that seems to be the way these days. It's no wonder we're where we are these days. So much for buying Nissans.

Completely stock. Nothing aftermarket. The only thing that's ever been plugged in was my cell phone charger. Thanks for the link. I'm shopping for the cluster.

Sorry to hear that, im a early 2000's Toyota fan. I wish I could have kept my 00 Camry some days. Toyota is a hell of a car, but dont get me wrong, i loved my versa, and my sentra is even better, but I do miss my toyota.

My first car was a 1997 Corolla. 5 spd. Parents got it for me to drive when I was in high school. Car had 78,000 km on it when I got it, and it is still running with 298,000 km. Never had a problem with it. And I did beat on it like and stupid teenager would. Funny thing was after I was done with it my dad, who couldn't care less about cars or what he drives, started driving it. Its been his work car for 3 years, but now that they got a new outback, he drives their other outback to work.

OP Sorry to hear about you experience with Nissan... I know my dealer experience wasn't much better either.
