im 100 percent torn between the inventive side of me and patience. i LOVE the nissan juke. and if its 17 for the AWD turbo, it is within my price range with a trade in on the versa (with saving up from now until its release). with it being tiny, AWD, and turbo'd, it is kind of a tuning dream. like a mini wrx. there isnt really anything i dont like about it. that being said, im itching to mod something. i have hit a point with the V that a lot of people do. with the lack of aftermarket support, its kind of easy to get bored with the V. and yes its a fun car, with good gas mileage, and it is kind of zippy, but its not really by any means fast unless crazy turns are in the race. i have the means, and i might design this just for fun, to turbo my V. it will take a few months (and i need to figure out how i can get the exhaust manifold to work in my favor) but to the best of my knowledge, it will be the second turbo'd V. ever. i have no idea what to do. thoughts? comments? opinions? im wasting my time? thanks

First off I highly doubt a vehicle with AWD and turbo being made in the UK will only cost $17k on US shores.

Second every report I have read clearly has stated that the AWD turbo model will be CVT only which is not really ideal for tuners. The FWD turbo will come with a 6spd. Now this is all reports and no facts yet.

Third you would not be the second turbo V. We all know the zpi one but I have seen at least two others via car domains or on other forums.

My honest opinion is if really interested in the Juke then wait and see the prices and trims when it is available. In the meantime do not mod your V because it only reduces value. The Juke will be out end of this year I believe so you don't have to wait that long.

Finally, someone else feels the same way as I do, lol. I love my V, but it gets very, very, boring quick! I love the sentra SR and the cube SL. I cant seem to stop staring at the cube. The juke I like, but im afraid the price is not gonna be worth it. So interest has dropped big time. I think its a unique style like the cube. But personaly, the cube is reality to me. But go for the juke ifs it in ur price range!!

I just can't justify paying off my Versa and then trading it in and losing all that money. I want to get my money's worth out of this car and that means driving it until it won't drive anymore, lol.

Hopefully though when it's paid off I can acquire a second vehicle ... a fun summer only vehicle :D

If you want to mod, why get a Juke? Its going to be like the Versa and Cube, its not going to come to US shores with a huge after market like the Civic has (mind you the civic is in what its 8th or 9th gen?).

So to mod, why not get something with a market?

If you look around, have the money, etc I'm sure you can turbo the Versa. You'll need to rebuild the motor completely, the stock internals I doubt can handle a turbo, But it'd be a good project to do. SO why not just put money in to the Versa? If you trade it in for a Juke, you'll have lost so much money on the Versa.

She's right on this topic, you should just keep the Versa. We're giving you the benefits and it looks like there's more than trading it in right now.

However, it's up to you man since it's your car and your money. A piece of advice is always helpful! :cornut:

Well all we are doing is speculating if the 1.8 can handle boost or not. I'm thinking it can handle low levels just fine. It most likely will affect longevity of the engine but what does that mean? Does that mean the car will go 50k miles or does it mean it will go 250k intead of 300k miles naturally aspirated? I have seen several turbo 1.8 V's. I guess we wait and see when theirs blows up.

I'm talking to a guy in Greece now that has turbo'd the 1.6L. It's in a qashqai but it's the same hr16de that I have. It's only at 5psi and holding strong. It is putting down 150hp to the wheels. That is 50% over stock. While 150hp is not all that much it will get a 2500lb chassis moving pretty good.

For all you people who want a fast moddable car is it that you want your V to be that or just want any car. If so might I suggest older infiniti g20's, 200sx se-r's or anything with the sr20de engine in it. They are great cars, engines, plenty of aftermarket support, go very fast, and they are not civics. Search craigslist and grab a project car.

I agree with you to a point. I'm not supporting a project car. Plus I'm more of a ka24de fan :)

Heck they could do the turbo up to like 4-6psi with no intercooler.

Second the aftermarket support is coming just wait this summer I know of some things coming out.

I don't know why everyone is so upset with their V. I love mine, and it has beat many of cars. The power is their its just higher up like a Civic with Vtech. I suggest taking your car to a drag or autocross. Blindsnyper auto crosses and loves it.

And if you guys are so worried about support for the V. You have resources on this forum and other Versa forums to get things manufactured. Be creative and get it done.
