ok so i have had my 2009 nissan versa sedan 1.6L for a year now and i love it dont get me wrong the gas mileage is great and its not a bad looking car however with only 107hp and 111tq i feel like i cant really mod it how i want to..i want to put a dc exhaust on it and a short ram intake because if water gets in the cold air exhaust my car is screwed im starting to really doubt if i should put money into this car ontop of that i want to paint it black because i have an ugly gold color i really would like around 250hp but idk if i can get that out of this car...my question is can i get that out of this car and what do you recommend before i trade this car in...please don't bash on me its just i went to some races and fell in love with the power of the cars and recently found an 94 rx7 for only 15000

If you can swing it, keep the V and get another to mod for 250hp. That way you always have a reliable economical ride, and another for tinkerin. Or if you prefer one car, trade V on a V6 Altima, G35/37 or similar. My two cents. Welcome!
Welcome to the forums
Welcome to the forums, 1.6 owner here as well. I agree with 08v. I'd keep the V for looks(lowered, nice wheels, muffler, etc.) and get something for speed/performance(240sx, older Sentra, Prelude, Accord, Civic). :thumb2:
welcome, My V is slow, but I give plenty of room for other drivers to go around me.
if I wanted something faster...I always wanted a Mustang 5.0...something like this

I just love the way they sound and the way they look... a blue one would be nice with white racing stripes, 5 speed manual... plenty of power.

or one of this...

a little cheaper...
an allwheeldrive subaru legacy

a little more expensive the M5

or maybe a camaro

an RX7 would be nice too!

I don't know if you can get 250hp out of the 1.6, but you have the time and the money $$$$$ almost anything is possible!!

I was not aware that nissan made the 1.6 in a gold color. I too bought an 09 and the only colors available were black, white, navy blue, and silver. Your not getting 250hp out of the Versa. So if you need that many ponies you will have to look for a different car.

I like rx7's but I don't think 15,000 for a car from 1994 is a good deal at all. If you want a project car with power then old mustangs are a good choice. Not too expensive and parts galore. Considering the fact that you been looking at an rx7 makes me think you like imports. If you were going to spend $15k on a car I'd get something newer like an s2000.
Get rid of the Versa and look into a mazdaspeed3/6 for an '07 you can get them for around 15K.

That is my plan...

omg, this! you are in no way getting 250hp from a versa...never going to happen...the motor is pretty maxed out as it is. don't bother wasting money on it.

keep the car for it's looks...i have a 2010 1.8 tinted, lowered and i have rims...it looks great, but i know i probably can't do much else to it.

look for something here in grassroots motorsports classifieds:
Race, performance & street cars, engines, engine parts, trailers for sale

you will be shocked at what you can buy for cheap! if you want a rx7, buy an older body style...they are sooooo much cheaper! or get a miata! those are a blast!
Like you've already heard, you're probably not gonna get anywhere near 250 out of the Versa. If you're an adrenaline yunkie and like imports since you mentioned the RX7, you should look at the 240sx. Plenty of them out there for pretty cheap and not to mention the variety of parts for it. You can build one from the ground up for less than 15k or even get one already built for far less than 15k. Plus you can get more than the 250 ponies you want out of it. But that's just me, in any case good luck.
I was going to suggest 240's. Having owned an s13 and s14 I can say they are awesome cars. Even with the KA engine 250 is easy. Or you can swap in an SR20DET.
I would say keep the Versa as a daily driver and then buy something a bit more fun for weekends, or summer driving.

As soon as Kit's paid off I'm gonna get something else for summer driving.

Versa is a good daily driver though. No complaints ... No problems and decent gas mileage!
