Deep Dish Tire Size

I'm looking to get some 16x8 wheels and am curious what size tires I would need.
I know on 16's the Versa would do best with 195/55-16 tires, but how does having wider wheels play into the size?
Do the tires HAVE to be stretched or do they just make wider tires and if so, where in the tire size does it indicate the width?

Thanks!

I believe the first number indicates the width, and the second the height. There are tire size calculators out there that you can use. Just go on google and type it in. It will give you the most accurate size to use depending on the use you want them for.
For an 8" wide wheel, you will need at least a 225 section width tire so you do not stretch the tire when mounted on the wheel. A quick look shows 225-50-16 or 225-45-16 would be your options. However either tire will result in a speedo error as either one of this is not the exact same diameter as your stock tire. Depending on the actual tire you choose this will result in an approx 2% error to your speedo.

Another important measurement to consider is Offset and Backspacing to make sure there is no rub on any suspension components or the wheel well.

This is important. Unless you want to get into rolling the fenders (although admittedly thats not really a big deal) you have to watch it. Also that your not rubbing the fender lining. I had 215 width on my Versa and it did rub the fender lining, can't remember the offset though. As for speedometer calibration, they are off from the factory by a bit and changing my wheel size actually made my speedometer more accurate lol. Not saying that would happen in every case, but it mine it did.
Thanks guys!
The wheels I'm looking at come on either 15 or 25 offset. Would those work?

I don't recall where, but I think I've read that anything less than +20 offset wouldn't work. My 16x8 wheels are +20 offset and I cannot fit my pinky finger between the wheel and my front brakes..so I'd go with +25 for sure.

Thank you!

On the website I am trying to order these from it says they are not compatible with the 07 Versa, but they appear to be the same size and your wheels (except the offset is +5 more).

Are they just "playing it safe" because they are pretty wide wheels and it's such a close call?
They would still fit, right?

Thanks!

16x8 +25 is pefect, +20 is super flush & if you slam the car the rim will hit the rear quarter (ask me how I know lol)

Necos, I know you own a Note and I'm not sure if you had an older Versa HB before. JayXSnoogans from my understanding has the previous gen HB so what you are saying may not apply to his car?
