Yeah I've driven it a bit, it's really fun, and I test drove one before he bought it, which is part of how I came to the conclusion it was a good choice. The thing drives much better than any of the hybrids we drove. I really like it actually. He almost got a Lexus CT200h which drives like a sack of potatoes. He is very happy he didn't get that car after having the LEAF, he really didn't like the way it drove and neither did I. LEAF drives great, in fact it reminds me a lot of the Versa, only quieter and nicer (not just cause electric, they did other stuff to make it quiet and cooshy) and it might have a bit more pick-up once you get on the gas. It's slow off the line because they limit it so you don't shred your tires with all the torque, but once you get going it gooooees. Drives more like a normal gas car than the hybrids do because the power train is so simple and not constantly mucking around. No transmission reminds me of the CVT, but smoother and you don't sort of feel it in the pedal the way you do with the CVT. Really feels great. Since the acceleration is so quiet it also just flat out feels faster, lots of people that drive it say they had no idea they were going as fast as they were...people instinctively drive slower or keep the revs low if they don't like noise...in the LEAF you really do need to check your speedo, it's sort of like driving a video game and not realizing you probably needed to break more for that corner...but in a good way somehow.
