To be honest with you, based on what I have read, and my own personal experience, I would not buy any vehicle with a cvt transmission under any circumstances. I have a 2012 Versa sedan, and at around 13,000 miles my transmission went south, and was changed out under the power train warranty. I do not drive with a heavy foot, do not abuse the car, and have all my maintenance done by the dealer. The other thing I was concerned with regarding the cvt transmission is the fact that Nissan would rather REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION rather than repair the one in the car. They seem to have an abundant supply of cvt transmissions in the pipeline which tells me that they have had a lot of trouble with them. If I had to pay for the transmission out of pocket, your talking about $4000.00, which means I would probably have junked the car. The other thing that gives me a problem is the fact that the "replaced" transmission only comes with a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty........not too reassuring!!!!!!!

I do not believe its much. I do not believe the engine is as eco as other eco cars so eco mods, eco driving results in the same neighborhood of 40 mpg.
