Hello from the desert outside of Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada. I just bought a Versa last week.

I do a lot of commuting (up to 60,000 a year, and over 600,000 since 2005)and have always driven S-series Saturns. I could easily knock off 40 mpg with them and they required very little maintenance. My last one a 98 SC2 has 314,000 on the clock, and I figured it was time to look for another car. A friend of a friend had a 2007 Versa SL with 107,500 miles for $2,000, so I figured why not? I had to add some 134a to get the AC blowing cold (I use a MAC gauge set, not the can with a gauge)- it went from 70F in the vent to 35F so that is great for the Hellish summers we have. I have a vibration at highway speeds that I think may be tire related, the airbag light flashes, and the low tire light won't go off. Other than that it drives pretty nice. It only gets around 32 MPG, which is a bit disappointing, but I can deal with that for now. Hopefully it is as reliable as the Saturns were. Still getting used to not using a key, and this is the first automatic I have driven in a loooooooong time-I still go to grab the shifter at times.

Fellow Saturn deserter! I have had 5 Saturns from the mid to late 90's. I loved those cars and they held up well. The best one was my 97 SC1 that I got for $200 because it would not run well ($20 temp sensor), it would get 30-44 MPG and I compared everything new to it. I had one with over 300k on it but don't recall exactly, it was a SW2 and I regret selling it but I didn't want to rebuild the motor, it was burning oil and getting 20 MPG.

I am, as of June 17th, in my first Nissan now as well; 2017 S (manual EVERYTHING). Just passed 1400 miles today.
