My new Versa has a FM reception problem. The FM radio fades in and out. Most of the time this is caused by a poor antenna system. Is there a problem with the Versa antenna system?

Thanks for your help,

Tom

I have noticed the same problem. I don't think that its the antenna though because I drove Montreal to Toronto and was able to pick up very distant signals. It seems to happen to local stations.

My 2011 hb had the roof replaced and the radio worked fine until a couple of months ago. Radio would periodically work. Brought it back to the body shop and they tightened the antenna nut tighter from inside the car. When the radio fades out can you grab the antenna and see if it brings in reception? That's what happened to mine so i think it wasn't being grounded all the time.

from my perspective its just the way radio waves travel that can also cause you to have your AM/FM signals fade in and out, but if it is a consistent problem in areas that should have a good reception then maybe it could be the antenna itself.

Could also be some kind of interference. For example a town near here has the hydro lines that run to a city about 30 minutes away running just outside it, and the radio reception there is weird.
