My opinion for the last 15 -20 years is that Ford sucks. Looking for a new Versa one of my friends told me to go look at the Ford Focus ST and I laughed and said never. Well as we all know being close minded will get you no where. So after a couple days I test drove one last tuesday. Less than 5 minutes of the test drive I knew this car was for me. Bought it friday night. The dealer approved me but could not locate a car. So I went searching talked another dealer into letting me take a ST to the dealer that approved me and he said no prob. Long story short this Focus is fawking badass. If you do not believe me go test drive it. You WILL trade in your Versa. Everything about this Focus impressed me. Ford you have done your homework. 2.0 turbo with a 6 speed tranny with unbelievable handling. Good luck to all. :driving:

awesome car. Glad you got something you like. Not sure it compares to a Versa as it's a different class and a whole different world in performance.

Yeah the Focus ST and smaller Fiesta ST are nice driving cars. People been begging Ford for years to bring over their European lineup and it's working out great for them so far.

Versa is kind of last of it's kind except for say the Toyota Yaris and maybe the upcoming Mirage from Mitsubishi as far as no frills basic cheap transportation is concerned.

Yes it is. Very nimble handling and brakes that come stock are unbelievable.

Yes Ford has listened.

Have fun with that focus st while I get 44mpg all day in my versa!
This ST Focus gets great MPG also and with a tune will get better.

had a ford fezz.. suspension and everything is very nice.. But it is was a crap car, it was more at in a workshop than me driving it. Extremely unreliable, and costs you a fortune to maintain.. (dont be fooled by it being a "cheap" car to maintain.)....

I grew up with Nissan's and we found it to be extremely reliable .. although we had our fair share of Ford's and Toyota and MAzda aswell...

A POS Ford that will not last very long (yes I'm sure it is nice now, every new car starts out that way) costing 16,605 base or my Versa that will actually last costing 10,900 which also gets better mpgs. There's no comparison here man, especially if you got that turbo version which I'm sure cost you at least 25,000+. If you wanna compare that to a Nissan it would be better suited over on the Sentra forums.

You should go drive one. I was closed minded like you for years. Ford has made internal changes years ago. A CEO took control and banded together groups of engineers many of them with european auto back grounds and WOW come out with these new cars that are what they call ecoboost. Do yourself a favor and just test drive one. I thought they were POS also but a test drive got me buying one. I have been Toyota Nissan all my life. I even have a Nissan Frontier 2013 parked outside. :thumb2:

I've driven all sorts of cars man from hundred thousand dollar Mercedes to Ford F250's, I'm one of the most open minded car guys out there. Honestly like I said you're comparing the wrong cars here, and yes your car will break down eventually. Also knowing Ford watch out for that transmission man haha but hey enjoy it for the first 100,000 miles and make sure to tell me what problems you run into after. :thumb2:

This is the truth. I've had the opportunity to drive a Focus ST. Since the Versa is only hatch in the Nissan group, it gets put up next to all the hatches.

Now like I said before! I think that Nissan should have kept the C11 Versa and put a MR16DDT in it. That would have been a sweet car to drive. Also, Nissan needs to bring over the Nissan Tiida C12 and call it the Sentra Hatch. Put the MR16DDT in it and sell it like hotcakes. You would have two hatches. Note would be gas mileage and Sentra for performance/some gas mileage.

that is just a silly question. But there was a high performance car test done from one of the car mags. Included cars like porsche, viper, gtr and they did put the ST in there. Of course the ST lost to all of them by a good bit but it still put up impressive numbers.

Maybe they will bring the C12 over as the new Spec-V, that would be sweet. And OP, enjoy your ST. A car is a car on matter the brand.

Good for you see you at the Focus Forums since it can't compare to the Versa, as was stated earlier.

There are no comparable models to the fiesta st and focus st in Nissan's lineup.
Also comparing thes ST's to the versa on the basis of MPG is just stupid. The STs are driven for smiles per gallon. If MPG was your top priority, you wouldn't be spending $23K plus on a compact car in the first place.
Its the same reason my family car is a 5-speed HHR SS.

LOL smiles per gallon. I like that.

Only thing nissan will have close to a focus ST is the Juke nismo RS. But one is a hot hatch and the other is well, um, it's a, who knows what it is. It's a JUKE :grin.

But the new RS fwd will be competitive performance wise with the focus ST if everything nissan is saying is true. Which is LSD, beefed up engine, shorter gears, lighter weight etc. Nissan claims 1 second less to 60 over the standard nismo juke which people have clock in the high 6 second mark.

But even still I highly doubt anyone is cross shopping a juke with a focus.
