I use them every so often just to get a cleaner through them. Especially on my car that sits quite a bit. But, I don't worry about it too much since I use top tier fuel (Mobil, BP, Shell only) and their detergents are going to be better than a generic fuel station that is only meeting the minimum requirements for cleaners. My cleaner of choice is B12 Chemtool since it is cheap and far more potent than Seafoam or similar.
I use ethanol free fuel for my small equipment and always put the correct amount of B12 Chemtool in my 5 gallon jug.
