1st and 2nd tank of gas, just above 1/2 mark was 8.2 gallons 210 miles, just below was 9.2 for 240 miles. Gas today when just below 1/4 and it only took 10.7 gallon. Went 311 miles and expected it to take more. Car just passed 1,000 miles on way to work today.

Are the gas gauges flaky at times or is the scale off? Anyone else see this?

Not complaining as mpg has been fine. I drive 50/50 city highway.

Automotive gas guages can't be taken too literally. The first half seems to go faster than the last. It's really to be used for referance only.

today I saw the gas light for the very first time!!

I usually fill up at the 1/4 mark and it takes a lil over 10 gallons, but today I wanted to live in the edge a lil and the light came on

and the reason why I only went 233 miles was because it didn't have a full tank and forgot to reset the tripdometer

about 2 or 3 miles away I was able to find a gas station and it took 10.99 gallons to fill up. I was like really???? so I went ahead and added the little extra 0.01 gallon to make it 11 gallons even

and spent 40 dollars to fill it up. gas was 3.6something dollars a gallon
