Hi Guys,

Shock and Horror after monitoring Tiida's fuel consumption for 2 full tanks, I found out that it consumes as much petrol as my 2.5LT Nissan X-Trail 4WD (if not more)

The FC returned a very poor 10.76LT/100kms city driving with air-con on, which is just a shocker for a 1.8LT engine and such a small car. Only 393kms out of a full tank and I filled up 42 litres when the low fuel light came on.

I wonder if there is anything wrong with it cause it is no where near the reported 8LT/100kms by Nissan!! :roar:

The car has only done 55,000kms and my driving is far from being relaxed LOL :) (got used to driving a high powered xtrail), I think it has something to do with the sudden surge the Tiida goes through when you press the pedal, it feels like all hell breaks loose when I do that and it nearly redlines the RPM and then drops back. But even with a grandpa type of driving, it didn't get to above the 400kms per tank mark at all since we got it a month ago.

That's very strange. I know if I give her the royal boot for the majority of the week (not speeding, just a race car driver in testing :p) then I still get about 500km from a tank.

Oh hey, I also run the full premium petrol, you run the good stuff too? In my old car, the cheap fuel saw a good 50km less per tank than the good fuel.

I put the standard Mobil unleaded (95 octane) in it, I don't use any of that no-name brand and can't see a need to put 98 octane V-Power in it which is what I use in my xtrail. I will try and put the Octane Booster in it and see what happens and might get the injectors cleaned at the next service.

I haven't been recording my numbers. Although considering I haven't even finished the break-in stage I'm not sure they'd be accurate. I get relatively decent highway mileage, but I've noticed my city mileage is crap.

I have and my V for a year and a half I have the cvt trans and life time avg. at 30000 miles is 32.2 mpg. my worst tank was 27.0 mpg only going 317 miles my best tank was 41.2 mpg at 435 miles.

one thing I have noticed is if you do most of your driving in city conditions than your computer matches you fuel gauge to that setting when i switch to highway driving the cpu compensates for the change in driving style and gives you a better fuel readout. That's what I have experienced.
