I bought a new 2017 Versa about a year ago. I have been tracking my mileage. when I compare what I calculate manually and what the car shows is consistently off by about 3 mpg. I don't understand. When I contacted the dealership about this they tell me it is normal. My daughter bought a Buick and the mileage always calculates correctly, my boyfriend bought a Dodge it also calculates correctly. How does Nissan get away with their mileage being inaccurate?

Several long threads on this subject. I think 'almost' everyone has found that the computer in the car is always showing about 3 to 4 mpg better than you actually get. Their claim of gas mileage for the car is not really in question - that is done under controlled conditions.

With my 16 Note with CVT I can get 40 to 41 mpg if I do all those little tricks they tell you to improve your gas mileage. Not worth the effort to me....I'm fine with 38 or 39 mpg.
