Does anyone here run 93 octane?

I'm going to start running 93 octane and mixing e85 to get some extra power.

What do you think??

wont do anything the car is made to run 87 higher octane wont do anything other then drain your wallet faster
87 Octane will have less power than the 93 o_0

I don't think the amount of power available really changes based on octane number. It's only a measure of how much you can compress the air/gas mixture before spontaneous ignition. Since the Versa's engine doesn't use high compression, it's not needed.

Try it, and see for yourself. I've tried it too, and didn't see a difference.
its not high comprssion. If you are just too rich and want to waste your money enjoy! but it wont help. especially E85. all it will do is make your versa the worst fuel economy on the planet
I'm not rich and don't want to waste my money. Hence why I bought a Versa. Fast cars don't have great fuel economy for a reason. I am willing to make that sacrifice.

I'll start with 93 and slowly add in the e85.
you dont seem to understand? it will do nothing but cost you more. your engine does not have high enough compression to use the extra octane.
The only thing that a higher octane does is control engine detonation. A higher octane doesn't make more power it just makes it harder for an engine to detonate. Once you start using exotic fuels like nitro methane or alcohol that's where you will see power gains. Especially nitro methane.
The versa was built to run on 87, and says in the manual to use nothing but.

Man, I did not know there was a such thing as a nice NVF.com member...

Dude thanks for the advice, I guess I will save my money and do some research on nitro methane. Thanks for real!

wrong. do research. The OP seems to think im messing with him. Use what ever gas you like. It makes no difference in performance. bye
Haha definitley not going to be able to run nitro methane unless you want like 0 mpg and your motor to blow lol. Save yourself money :) plus nitro methane is incredibly expensive its what they run in top fuel race cars and boats :p
Does anyone else think this hella flush guy is just a troll? Every single thing he posts is asinine.
^ just a bit lol
its entertaining at times but back to the thread, i run 91 octane(highest i can get)

Hells ya. I think I may have posted something along those lines in the how can I make my versa faster thread or something like that. Although he truly does sound like someone from the "hella flush" "scene".

Back on topic.... Don't run any more than 87. If the car was designed for that, and it had any benefit, thats what would have been recommended by Nissan.
here is a little info on why there is no need to run 91 or 89 octane in our car. there are no gains in power just controls engine detonation.
HowStuffWorks "What does octane mean?"
:)

DONT DO THAT! That would be a horrible idea only run the octane in the vehicle that the vehicle calls for if it calls for 93 or higher then use high octane if it says unleaded only then use unleaded
