Same here, I am looking for a blank. Would really like to get a switchblade style. Seems like a lot of older model year Nissan keys are available on eBay. But not the 2012 Versa sedan which uses a different key style.

2012 model does have the chip I believe...but could be wrong.

Often you can sometimes find "used" keys on ebay. You can program the fob. Then get a "standard" key made at a key shop. Keep the fob and the key together to start the car.

Almost ALL keys can be programmed thru your car, IF you have two keys. So it's always good to purchase a spare for this reason.

Granted, it can be extremely cumbersome to accomplish. With on car it was something like turn key on, turn off, turn key on, roll down window, roll up window, open driver door, close driver door, press audio button. Turn off car, turn back on.

Key is now programmed. And if you think I'm being funny... I'm NOT!
