I lost my original key so I went to Nissan and I believe the price was ~$115 for a replacement key and it would take about a week to come in. Hope this helps.

Im guessing its the one that has the key fob but luckly I have a spare key. And as JVersa said...I said F that! I went home and grabbed my spare key. Better yet? I got a phone call from the place I thought I lost my key saying they found my key.

Even the base models have the chip? I thought I saw un-cut keys on ebay for like $20.

Ah, that makes sence. Mine has just the Nissan emblem so it probably doesnt have the chip. Where are the Nissan employees? Jbeau?

Yeah, I've never heard of $7,000. I have a 1.6 and it was $11,399. There's the $10,500 which is the base but I have to have A/C...too hot in Florida not to have A/C.

That sounds like the 1.6 base(no A/C). They're basically the same, the only difference is the A/C and mine is available in both auto and manual but the base, or "stripped down", is only available in manual.
