So Daughter number 3 Drives the 2015 SL. It has ~14kMiles and is largely parked in her garage at college. She drives home today and proceeds to text me a dozen times or so about a noise the car is making. The noise in question occurs when you turn on the fan blower for the indoor climate. The noise sounds like something is either caught in the blower fan or the fan itself is having issue. It moves air (hot or cold) but does so making a racket of noise. Looking for ideas. what i am expecting I need to do is somehow get access the the blower and inspect for foreign objects or it may need replacing.

Thoughts and ideas welcome.. Thanks in advance.

As another poster mentioned, if it is still under warranty, let Nissan take care of it. I had the same issue, and it turned out to be a dry leaf that got sucked into the blower box located under the dash. I have a 2012 versa sedan, and IT DID NOT COME WITH A CABIN FILTER INSTALLED IN THE BLOWER BOX. Nissan decided to save money and not install an air cabin filter even though there is a place for one. The access area for the filter is under the passenger side of the dash with a sliding port for the filter. If you have a shop vac, you can try to vacuum what may be inside the box but it is a tight spot. I purchased my own filter, and installed it after cleaning out the leaf. Just be advised if your model is like mine, the blower itself along with the motor is located under the drivers side of the dash, and cannot easily be removed for replacement or cleaning!!!!! Good luck!!!

Noise varies with blower speed? Likely a squirrel made or attempt to make a nest in the air intake and got some stuff in the air intake. Most of the newer V have a filter for the HVAC from the factory where before it was optional than before then it was included.

THe filter is in the center rear of the dash near the floor. Best reached from passenger side floor with your right hand face first into the passenger side floor. :surprise
