HELP! AC fan spins and rattles

19165 Views 12 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  BluV3R18
I turned on the AC this morning to warm up the car and I can hear a strange noise coming from the AC Vents and it sounds like something is touching the fan blades inside, wierd.

All 4 speeds work fine, the fan blows air normal and I don't know what's in there or how something got inside the blades?

Any Ideas?

I think I might now why the AC blower fan is making that strange noise.

I remember I had to park 5.00 dollars the other day and I put the ticket on the dash.
Well,
I forgot about it and left it on the dash. and it was one of those small tickets, similar to the ones you get at an arcade for price exchange…..

I can bet 1.00 usd that small ticket felt under the windshield defog air vent and found its way to the AC fan blower

How do I get to the AC fan blower?

anyone? anyone? going once? going twice? google it right? LOL
Somewhere on the forums I remember people pulling gum wrappers etc out of their AC, think they removed the in cabin air filter.

mine is a small ticket paper piece, I'm almost 100% sure :thumb2:

thank you! thank you! :worship: :worship:

I hope I can work on that this weekend. and take a picture of it
Its real fast, just pull the glove box out ul see the motor to the left

here says I need to remove the instrument panel, but I guess I don't need to do that if I can get to the blower by removing the glove box then?

I'm off today so I have plenty of time to do it

well, fixing to go ahead and start removing the glove box and go from there...
I don't see a blower... and my air filter is stuck and it won't come off lol

Up Date: for some reason the cabin filter was hard to remove, had to use a flat head screwdriver to pull it from the edges.

then I reinstalled the filter and I was able to remove it with my hands again like it was nothing...

the paper is still flapping around the blower blades, but I will put this on hold until I really know how to get to the blower
:thumb2:
Good News Guys

The flapping sound is gone!!!!

I guess by turning the AC setting to the floor board it somehow blew the paper out of the AC fan blade and now the fan sounds like new again. Quiet. its quiet now
