Hey everyone,

Seeing as this is the only forum I find useful with regards to cars now a days, without people really giving smart as$ responses, i thought i'd reach out to you guys for some help.

My gf is looking into getting and HID kit for her 09 KIA RIO5
I've read up online and found no one with any useful information. I at least know that they are H4 bulbs (from my research at least) and that she wants bi-xenon. But if i get the kit from DDM tuning do i go for 35w or 55w?

(this is the kit im looking into HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning)

I know I needed help for my v and it was easy enough to install, but just getting ready to purchase is where I need help :p

Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated!

The difference between 35w and 55w is how powerful the lights are. You can use either. 55w will be brighter.
ok well i have 35w for my v so i'd think 35w would be fine for her car then
Isn't stock 55w?
^ im not sure, kinda confused on that actually

if i say order a set online and i chose 35w over 55w, the only difference would be the brightness right? or would that cause some other sort of issue?
Halogen bulbs run at 55w stock. HIDs normally are 35w, but 55w HIDs are just insanely brighter. Just run 35w and aim low, 55w is just asking for something being thrown at you!

I run 55w aimed normal, haven't had any problems like that. I aimed them a bit higher for a bit but in driving it twice got lights flashed at me twice. Put them back down and haven't had a problem!
ok so 35w ftw lol..

and not to be a complete noob but how would you aim them higher or lower? In my v for example I just put them :S I didnt know you could just aim them higher or lower, do you just adjust the position its in? >.o And I've been told by a friend of a friend when I was driving behind him that my lights were not at all blinding and he was able to look right at them lol and im running 6000k bi-xenon HIDs
So youve never been flashed by other drivers without re-aiming them lower? Theres a 6mm hex adjuster just behind the headlight, its a white plastic piece, cant miss it.
i cannot remember if i've been flashed by other drivers or not lol.. and i've never aimed or played around with that adjuster at all. I just put them in and that was that :p

This was posted a year ago but not just versa car are welcome here but also other vehicles as long as we are capable of helping then there would be no problem. On your case would be recommended to get iget the h11b bulbs since they could fit on the vehicle plus the cheap price on the market today. The installation is easy with the help of the manual or with the mechanic's assistance. So in case you don't have replaced your gf's thing then this would be an option. Gud luck and hope this little knowledge help you find the answer.
