Sounds like the normal fuel pressure regulator issue. You can turn the key and wait a few seconds for the pump to prime lines and get pressure up. Then try and start the car. Mine does the same thing. It always starts and I'm not under warranty anymore so I'm not replacing the fuel pressure regulator.

no it's only the fpr bleeding off pressure. Once it's running it hold the pressure just fine and you shouldn't notice any loss of mpg or performance. Like I stated above I will live with it and priming the lines works perfectly for me.

Nissan makes pumps fairly easy to access. They are just under the rear seat and most pump sit in a nice cradle. I have not done this to a Versa yet but all the old nissans I had were this way. If you do it with the gas light on you shouldn't even have to get too much gas on you.
