Hey everyone! My name is Brittany. I'm a senior in undergrad, 23, Northeast Tennessee. I bought my 2011 Nissan Versa Hatchback S with extras on December 22nd.

-Fresh Powder
-Charcoal interior
-Power locks/windows
-Keyless entry
-Cruise control
-Spoiler
-Mats

My 2000 Jeep Cherokee was falling apart and with my boyfriend deploying to Iraq in June, I wouldn't have anyone to do the weekly/bi-weekly repairs it was needing.

We went to Nissan to look at a used 2007 Versa that was probably an S with no cruise control or options. It was priced at 8 something. After talking to the Nissan dealers, it seemed like getting a 2011 Versa with the rebate, trade-in and etc. would put me at the payment I wanted.

I hadn't planned on getting a brand new car and it all happened so fast but Jacob and I are really pleased with the purchase. If I could change anything it would probably be looking into the SL more and having gotten it. I didn't even look at an SL package because I just assumed it would be priced higher than I wanted. Looking back, I probably could have gotten an SL and haggled with them a bit. I did get a lot of the power options though. There was no way in hell I was going to buy a brand new car without keyless entry or cruise control.

My only complaint with my Versa is the seat quality. They're lint magnets! The seats in the SL would have been better I'm sure. Definitely going to invest in some high quality seat covers when I get the chance.

I got out the door for $14,491 with a $230 monthly payment, 72 months. With my limited credit (no previous loans), I think I didn't do too bad.

I've spent hours reading this forum and a couple of others. I'm really excited about my Versa future!

Welcome to the forums hope you enjoy the versa. Are you planning any mods? Also I want to thank your boyfriend for serving our country.
Welcome to the forums!

I ordered custom seat covers, and so did a few others on here from the same company (QualitySeatCovers). I can pm you the sellers email if you want. She can make you any colour combo or design, with different fabrics available. And she does the cutouts for the front airbags, and makes the split in the rear seats along with the cupholder cutout for the rear seats as well.

Hope you are enjoying your Versa so far!

respondingversa - Thanks for the welcome! There's a ton of things I'd love to do to it but as this is my first brand new car that warrants mods, I'm really need to the whole mod thing. I really like what iluvmyVersa08 has done with hers - the door fabric and interior work.

iluvmyVersa08 - Definitely send me her information. I've looked into the CalTrend pleather seats that look gorgeous but they're $500 to $600. There's a set on ebay I saw that are pleather-esque for $48. I'd like something that looks less like a seat cover and more like a factory seat.

Also, I love everything you've done with your Versa! I wish I was as crafty as you!
welcome to the forums, looks nice keep us updated on any thing you do to it hope you enjoy your versa and your stay here at NVF.
Congrats, and I feel the same way about the SL, I thought it was too much money, and wasn't in my price range, but I would love to go back in time and buy the SL.

I will find her email and send it to you. Some of the seat covers on eBay are universal, and they don't work with factory air bags. The lady I dealt with made the cut out in the seat for the airbags. Keri (Kirversa) also ordered from her as well.

And thanks for the comments. I'm trying my best to make the car my own. A couple more years of payments and then I can just drive her until she dies :)
Welcome. There are some pretty good and easy mods on here if you wanted to do any. Alot of them are plug and play. Also there hasn't been any big mods for the V's yet done only engine swap (but not many has done that) so dont worrie if you feel like you have to do alot to your V. But besides that I hope you enjoy your V. Also what are you majoring in?
flversa - I'm a journalism major and a film studies minor. I'm probably going to go to grad school in the Fall and do an English MA just to pass time while my boyfriend is in Iraq.
Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your Versa as much as we do.
Thats good to hear. My sister just graduated from Florida State Univeristy as the same. She also wants to MA in English but I dont know what she is going to do. How long has your bf been in the service for.
An MA in Enligsh really doesn't add much to your career possibilities other than teaching college level courses. I'm only doing it because it will be paid for and I'll be getting a couple of graduate student campus positions that pay pretty good money. Plus it will prolong my student loan repayment. :)

As for Jacob, he'll be done with this contract Nov. 2012 and he did a six year contract. Hopefully his deployment to Iraq will be a six month-er instead of a year.
Welcome to the forums. More Versa owners popping up everywhere :)
Liking the user name.
Yeah that is wat my sister said. I believed she said she double majored in journalism and something else but im not sure. And im majoring in criminal justice. But I hope Jacob will get back safe. And I also thank him for his service. How long have yoou guys been together
Welcome, welcome! Glad you decided to take a look at the Nissan Forums and give the Versa a chance! I know Nissan is very popular in TN because of the Smyrna Plant and loyalists, so you're in good hands if anything ever goes wrong. (Don't worry, not much should/will...and if it does, then you can find the answers you need here :) )

I have a 2009 Super Black Hatchback SL and besides the different material used on the seats and some other options, the S and the SL really aren't that different. Either way, you made a great choice to get the S with the important features for a pretty cheap price!

And as Ashley was saying earlier, she and I both purchased the Aftermarket seat covers from QualityCovers on eBay and they are great! They are fully customized and still cheaper than any other covers with the same, if not better quality for the price. I bought both front and rear sets + separate headrest covers for under $170. If you're looking for a quick, girly, and functional mod, these seat covers are the way to go! :D

Also, Ashley has tons of great interior ideas including the patterned fabric and I also did my own rendition of the upholstery upgrade and it was cheap and quick to do. Plus, no matter how cheap the Versa is, you can still make it look as nice as any other vehicle. (It's like a lego car, you can do virtually anything and give your car a whole new look without spending a lot)

Btw, sorry this is so long, just trying to help! Lol
Good luck with the MA degree and hope your boyfriend stays safe while he is deployed!

If you need any help or anything, just let us know! :blue flower::thumb2::woot:

flversa - We'll have been together 3 years in May. I'm hoping we'll be getting married before he deploys in June. :)

Klrversa - Do you have pictures of the fabric you did? Did you use the same technique as Ashley? I think it's probably one of the first mods I'd like to do.

Looking at the SL prices, I probably could have haggled for them to give me a deal close to what I had on the S with all of my options. Pretty much the only thing my Versa doesn't have that the SL has is the seat material, the navigation system, the CVT transmission and the steering wheel controls for the radio.

How was your all's gas mileage there in the beginning? I'm averaging 27 and I'm ready to see those sweet 30s!
I have 41k on my 08V and with winter and using defrost/AC mode I'm getting lately 26-27 mpg with half city / half highway driving.
Thats great to hear I hope the best for you guys. Me and my gf have been together for 2 1/2years. But yeah im averaging close to 30 miles a gallon just all depends were you drive (city or highway)

Ah, yeah I know what you mean. And yes, I believe we have pictures on one of the interior threads on here...I can try and find it and give you the link to it. But yes, I used pretty much the same technique as Ashley and it came out great! I used a different type of stretchy material and it was really easy to work with and was probably about $4 a yard (extremely cheap) After I did all four doors and the trunk cover I still have a whole can of adhesive left and 2 yards of material. Hobby Lobby has a great fabric section and general adhesive if you're looking at doing it.

As far as options go, my SL is pretty much loaded except for the tech package: I don't have the NAV or the radio controls on the wheel but I have power options/cruise control with the full radio/ipod capabilities and the CVT. The model I got was the only one with just about all of the options except nav etc. so I just settled on it because I didn't really want/need the tech package upgrade.

I can't really remember the mileage I was getting when my car was brand new, but I'm pretty sure it was about 26 or 28 and in March my car makes two years and I have less than 7K on it. You should start seeing much better gas mileage and more consistency in the numbers you get as you meet the break in period around 1,250 miles. :D

For the interior fabric mod, does the spray adhesive ruin the original fabric that gets covered up?
