Hey everyone,

So my wifes Versa does this really weird thing. If we are waiting in any drive up or at a stop while in drive. The engine sounds like it revs really high. I don't know if it is the fan or what. Is this typical for Nissans? I have never owned a Nissan besides this Versa that my wife bought before we got married. Any help would be appreciated.

Does it happen under any specific conditions? What does it sit at for warm/operating temp idle speed? When in drive and stopped engine idle is supposed to decrease to reduce "stoplight creep" so i don't know. Idle will be high in cold starting/idling conditions for the first minute or two then gradually settle down. Be more descriptive.

the description sounds like it's just your cooling fans turning on. If the RPM's aren't shooting up on the cluster then the engine isn't revving high. Your RPM's will raise a tiny bit when the fans kick on though. But usually only 1-200rpm.
