Not sure if theres a thread for this already, but it'd be cool to get some insight from professionals such as yourselves :smilejap:

I'd love some tips/tricks including products. :thumb2:

I currently am only using Maguires Ultimate Wash & Wax but never actually waxed or polished my V yet.

Do any of you clay bar? I have some nasty deposits and would love some tips and tricks on that as well as products name to boot. :)

I've just used Meguir's quick detailer, it leaves it looking almost like it's waxed. Full waxes and whatnot...I haven't done. It's been a rainy month so far so I haven't bothered doing much on it.

I'd also love some tips on how to keep the rain drop residue off it and keep it looking like the day I bought it :)

Damn! That looks amazing iLuvMyVersa08!

Is there anyway you could jot down a quick step by step list of how you do it?

I dont want to consume a lot of your time, just would love to hear about your technique.

Procedure (descriptive if you could :"D ) - preferred materials- estimate cost of materials would be GREAT! I couldnt thank you enough. It'd actually be worth money to learn a detailers secret. :) You could PM if you don't want to go public ;)

It's no secret lol.

Washed her really well using the two bucket method. Wash top to bottom, small sections at a time. Then I chamois her off. Then clean inside each door jam with a microfiber cloth.

I park her in the garage for the rest. First using Meguairs clay bar kit, I clay a small section at a time. Then I used Meguairs swirl remover, again in small sections. After that I give the car a light coat of Meguairs cleaner wax. Wipe it all off and enjoy :)

I also use Meguairs interior cleaner for the doors and invisible glass for all the windows.

Basically I only use Meguairs. The products can be costly at first but I store them indoors in the winter so I haven't had to replace anything yet. I have a few cars lined up to detail this spring summer so a replenishment may be needed. But if you only clay and wax once or twice a year it should last you a while.

I will do a small photoshoot tomorrow before work :)

Ive currently been using mcguires ultimate wash and wax and i got to say its kept my car freaking smooth and shineyn like yours. ever since I bought it though i noticed hard black goop in the back bumper and parts of the car. I figured this was something I'd have to pay a few hundred bucks to get detailed but realise now this all they do. They would clay bar it, swirl remover, and wax it and charge me half a grand. hahaha.

I've used 1 bucket so far and have been blessed with no swirl marks. It must be the meguiars I'm using thats kept me lucky. I spray my microfiber sponger with this cool power hose attachment i got to conserve water when i can actually see sedimentation.

Is it true cleaning the roof first and around the sides top to bottom prevents damage? I've trusted that method because people say dirt sticks to the lower part of your vehicle.

Recently I've been washing 1 panel at a time with a grand finale rinse. My hose attachment builds up water pressure and releases it as a pressure washer, mist, shower, or anything in between. not one of those squeeze the handle ones but it twists to unlock and lock. Almost like a spark plug lol. I'll take a pic of it next time I'm out there detailing which I hope is tomorrow. :D

Have you ever used turtle wax ice liquid wax? would you recommend it? Do you use mcguiars paste wax or liquid quick detailer wax? Also, what do you use along with your clay bar? Do you need a "lubricant" ?

If you buy the clay bar kit it comes with the spray (Meguairs Quik Detailer). The wax is a liquid. I have never used any other products so I can't comment on them. I just have always purchased Meguairs and continue to do so. :)

I actually have car wash liquid from Nissan. They gave it to me last year with a bunch of Nissan detailing products. I still use that. But any car wash soap should be fine :)

It's nice to have a clean car.

I detailed Dave (the minivan) today too. He only got a wash and interior cleaning (swapped out his weather tech mats too). I'll wax him maybe in the fall. He is still fairly new, only 9,000kms on him so he doesn't need the full cleaning just yet. :)

After hours of cleaning I took her out of the garage today :) clean clean clean. Mmm. Good as new ;)

How often do you clay? I think I might do it only twice a year, this first session is probably its first session so i may go through a few bars lol. Huge pieces of tar like substance on my paint, definitely something clay can remove? By huge i mean the size of rice krispies lol:thumb2:

I am still using the same clay from the first kit I ever bought lol. Two pieces came with the clay bar kit I purchased. It should last you a while. I usually would clay / wax twice a year.
