How good are the OEM '14 Note speakers?

Planning to do a small upgrade on the door speakers on the 14 Note. I'm no audio expert but still wanna make it sound better so I could ignore how slow the car is :chuckle:

So how good are the stock speakers compare to, let's say these :

Amazon.com : Polk Audio DB651 6.5-Inch Coaxial Speakers : Vehicle Speakers : Car Electronics

???

(just happen to have a pair of these laying around since I bought them onsale years ago)

I've got a 14 note. They're not bad. However, I would be pretty sure that aftermarkets would be better. How good of speakers would come in a low-end compact?

Are the speakers with the touchscreen XM radio/tech package a better grade than the base radio?

not sure about the nav package speakers or the base, but the one's in the SL trim without nav are pretty decent for most of what i play in my car which is everything from rock to R&B, but if or when they do go out i plan on upgrading to a decent set of alpine's.

When I had my 2011 Versa with the navigation package, the speakers did not change. They were the same throughout the Versa series.

I would definitely suggest getting new speakers. I had some Infinity speakers in my Versa. Sounded amazing!
I have the standard SV Note radio. The speakers are decent up to a certain volume level. I don't turn them up too loud so they are OK for me. Not much to expect from $3 speakers with tiny magnets.

I'm sure aftermarket ones will sound better but based on past experience, the difference will be minimal unless you also upgrade the amp side.
Replacing speakers aren't that expensive, you can get a set of Rockford Fosgate's for under $40 from Amazon, and they've got the little holes for the 3-point mount built in.
I'm sure the audiophiles will be shouting "They Suck"! :rolleyes5: However, for the normal person, the stock speakers are fine.
Yes, they're adequate for your typical driver, fortunately though, if you want something nicer, they can be had for a reasonable price.
For what they are, they are not bad. I think the Polks would be an upgrade. I think to truly get better sound you have to mount the tweeter higher. I doubt we'll ever do it, but that was my thought the first time I turned the stereo up.
I just picked up my 2014 SL and the speakers are ok but nothing to boast about. What surprised me is that there don't seem to be any rear speakers, at least I can' find any in my new car. I have never owned a car that didn't have at least 2 in the front and 2 in the rear and my last 3 cars had 1 or 2 in the front 2 in side doors and 2 in the back. hmmmm better go down and look again . . . and take a flashlight this time.

Whoa! Not sure what kind of cost cutting Nissan is doing up there in Canada. My lowly SV has front and rear speakers in the doors.
just ordered 2 pairs of speakers from amazon, gonna replace the stockies next weekend!

Well I called my salesguy and asked where are the rear speakers located? There are no rear speakers he replied. Can I add rear speakers, I asked? He said he did not think I could do this then some mumbo jumbo about why which was either over my head or under my radar. Salesguy speak is almost impossible to understand.

There are two speakers in the front driver and passenger doors, those speakers I can see and hear. Some noise seems to come from the dash area up near the windshield I think.

I would love to have speakers at the back or in the rear passenger doors.

Yes I have 4 but I'm used to having a pair of speakers in the very back of the car.

Well it pays to investigate which I did AFTER I said no rear speakers. I have speakers in the two front doors and speakers in the two rear passenger doors and NO SPEAKERS UP FRONT anywhere on the dash.

Now to figure out how to make them sound better . . . .
OK MLR...so I think this is the way I understand what you're saying...so far.

You have 4 speakers, one on each door (just like all of us). BUT you DO NOT have speakers in the "very back of the car" and DO NOT have speakers "up front anywhere in the dash".

Not sure what you are expecting from an econobox. Most everyone think the sound is decent for what we have, but certainly lots of room for improvement. I'd like to see what you do to your speakers, please keep us up to date. Thanks.

Jas I don't need to anything to my speakers. I have no complaints just wishing there was a pair at the rear. BUT now that I know how to adjust the sound from front to back seat speakers all is well.

I'm liking my Note better and better each day and I love that when I look out my windows I can see other cars' windows and folks instead of their door handles or the tires on big SUVs.
