Lower profile tires will improve handling, but they ride worse. A heavier wheel will also create more drag and power loss. You will notice the difference when you take off from a light and it will decrease fuel economy.
As dumb as this sounds imagine lifting 50lbs then lifting 25lbs of course its going to be harder to lift the heavier weight. Well your putting the same stress on your motor having it turn more weight. Its putting more workload on the motor. Hope that makes sense.
