Hi everyone,
I wanted to change the front Rotors and reae drums of my Nissan versa 2008 SL. I was confused as they asked me if I have ABS or not, I went through the manual and it doesn't say anything. So how can I know if I have ABS.

Thanks

Wait until it rains then pick a big empty parking lot and slide the car there from too much brake. If you feel vibration in the brake pedal or hear any weird noise while the car is sliding you have ABS.

Or follow the brake lines from the master cylinder to see what they go to, they go to the ABS module next but you need to know what you are looking for.

Good point but on some cars the ABS light is the same light as the parking brake and low fluid. It then just says 'brake'.

And, if the ABS is not working at all, the light of course then means nothing.

When you turn on your car, the ABS light will come on briefly. It's usually some sort of circle with "ABS" inside it.

I was under the impression that for 2008, ABS comes standard on all Versa.

When you hard brake using ABS, you can hear a pumping sound as the ABS pumps the brakes. It's disconcerting if you never had a car with ABS before.

Thanks All for your comments and help. The ABS is shown on the dashboard but the light never came at all when staring the car. I attach a picture for the front wheel because I don't know what I'm looking at to be honest. So a trained eye is appreciated.

AMC49 why would you give YUSUF such nonsense info on ABS( WAIT TILL IT RAINS AND SLIDE THE CAR ??? REALLY!!!) how about YUSUF look at your strut ( I can't tell in the picture) but 1: your brake line hose is connected (or attached to the strut to keep it out of the way) 2: if you have a black wire (also attached to the strut and goes into the wheel hub (black plastic and held on with a 10 mm bolt) you have ABS, if only a hose and no wire no ABS I hope that helps

I know it's a dead thread, but for anyone in the future looking to figure it out w/o locking up their brakes:

Here's what the wheel sensors look like in the tech manual:

Since it was easier to get a pic of the rear wheel, here are the sensors on my '10 Versa. The sensor is hiding behind the shock with the wire leading to it, and the brake line is visible above it:

Same location on my '08 which apparently does not have it. Notice the wire clip is not holding anything there:
