Vehicle Info: 2009 Nissan Versa SL Sedan 1.8
Floor Jack: MVP Pro-Lift

I am quite a beginner when it comes to working on cars, and I am afraid to use a floor jack and stand(s) by myself. I've seen it done a lot when people have changed brakes for me, but I still have that fear of my car falling or not placing a jack stand in the right place.

I want to remove my rear tires (one at a time) to paint my brake drums since they are so rusty.

SO, my questions are:
1. Do I place the saddle of the floor jack where the cut-outs are for the spare tire jack included with the vehicle? Or do I place my floor jack somewhere else?
2. Do I angle the floor jack? Or do I just place it straight? If I do angle it, which way (like towards what)?
3. Where do I place the jack stand(s)? I want to be safe.

I also want to check my front brake pads (which I know how to do). However, again, I am afraid to use a floor jack alone. So if you can answer the questions above (but pertain to the FRONT tires this time haha), I'd appreciate it!!

Thank you so much!

not sure if there is enough room on the V but some cars there is room for the jack saddle and the jack stands. If not there is should be jacking points in the front and rear of the car though I never had any luck using those. I usually just end up putting the jack where the lower control arm bolts to the car or on a frame rail. Then place the jack stands where the notch is.

Jacking points should be noted in your owners manual.

Can you post pics of where you place the stands? That's all I need to know at this point. I'd really appreciate it! :)

Every thing you gotta know about the lifting spots under the car is in the owners manual and it has pictures.

There are pinch welds where you place the jack.

Okay. I'm going to be lifting one area (i.e. right rear) at a time. So I'm going to lift, remove tire, paint drum and let it dry try, then put the tire back on, and move on to the other side of the rear. I'm not lifting the whole rear.

SO, I do place my floor jack at the jack point, correct?
If so, where do I put one of these guys? --->
