to take off the doors all u need is a flat head and a phillips head to take off the door so lets start

now take the flat head and put under the c looking cover and pop up slow and then take it

now take the flat head and stick it in the crack of the switch and the door like so

now take your hand and pull it out

now once you have it off take the flat head or your finger and un-plug to take it off

now when this is out the door has to phillips head screws and take them out

now u can take the door off

now take your hand and place on the part where my hand is and pull up slow and it should come off with no problems at all

then u can also grab from this spot as well

now once that is done u have this

now u can take out them lil 20watt speakers

and get some 600watts like i did

or even wire some leds in the door like so

but when u get your speakers out u can do this lol

and now to put back on the door do the same steps backwards

im glad i can help you all that have read this how to do with doors, leds, and speakers

have a nice day:hurray::party::hurray:

Ok. I'm having a hard time with the window switch connector. What part needs to be disconnected. The entire white square? I got the arm piece off the rear door. Now question is if I rip my doors apart can I still put the window back up using the front master driver switch? Or should I wait to tackle this project when I get home.

I took one of my rear doors apart. My goal is to refabric it by tomorrow so I can have my door working by Tuesday. Right now my window is down and has to stay down. Lol. I'll post pics later. The worst part was taking the window switch off.

Its just a tab that u press and the whole white connector comes off. I normally just push on the tab, while pulling lightly on the whole piece so the wires are tight. And when I push the tab in, it just pops off. before u do it, roll ur window up. If u dont, dont worry, just pop the window switch back on, and roll it up. Its very easy ashley, and dont worry about breaking anything. Its kinda hard to break anything but those silver trim pieces. I broke two of those, cause I didnt know how eactly they came off. lol

Question - are the clips holding the door panel in those cheap plastic clips or actually a decent metal type. I remember my escort used the cheapo plastic clips that broke easily. And nobody (including dealerships and car audio shops that I checked) knew where to get them to replace. Ended up having my driver side door panel held back on at the bottom by duct tape lol.

It's cheap plastic clips but still fairly strong. Just pull the door panel off the top first and then the rest will just pry off. Just be somewhat gentle and it should be okay. I took all mine off numerous times and its all still in one piece.

I had to take my door panel off to push a small dent out of the door, (misjudged a snow bank backing out of my driveway) what I found out there are like 3 or 4 of those clips that slide into to the door panel themselves rather than snap in. those will be left on the door when you remove the panel.

what worked for me is once you get the door panel loose is pick up and slide the panel to release the clips from the panel. when it is time to put it back together you can try and slide the door back on blind to line up those clips, or if you are impatient like me take those clips off and put them on the panel first. a screw driver will work, but after almost harpooning my other hand that was holding the clip to get the screw driver under I used a dinner fork and scooped them out of the door like scooping out ice cream.

Sooo to install those speakers did you drill the door? I have spacers on the way that should work...but I am confused...looks like you drilled through to run wires through as well. I really wish I could find a speaker harness adapter but it doesn't look like they make it so I'm stuck cutting and stripping and crimping...but you didn't use a spacer at all?

I had posted earlier where to get the panel clips in THIS thread.
Do yourself a favor and pick up a box of THESE Panel Retainers by Auveco Products P/N 20668.
It's a box of 15 and you'll be glad you have 'em when replacing interior panels.
