I saw that a Nissan dealer in Greece put together a turbo kit for the HR16DE. I have talked to them before, and they believe it will also work on a Versa/Tiida. Not sure if it will work with newer-style HRs, though. Figured I'd post up their kit. I told them about our forum, and maybe they will chime in. The kit, I'm sure, is pricey, in the $3k range, I bet.

That would be great, $1,500 isnt bad. Does he mention anything about the hp gain?

from what i remember this kit was able to net another 50whp over stock, so taking into account that the stock engine puts out a little over 90whp i would venture a guess that this turbo kit would net you close to 150whp, which is pretty damn good considering how light the Note and versa sedan are
Rob and Tubtub, I'm sure you guys seen the Nismo Sentra concept. MR18ddt I believe, I have seen a pic looks like the same mount set up, and it come with an active LSD. If the engine is made (240hp 240 torque) would be a great engine, and transmission swap, plus ECU. Could work for both sedan, and hatch. I'm willing to do the R&D if this become reality. On a different note, that kit for $1,500 is BA. I wouldn't worry about an engine blowing with only a 150hp. Seems like a clean kit, with a nice exhaust system hooked up (custom turbo-back) be sitting pretty. Again 4.5 pounds seems nice and safe.
Getting a nismo sentra motor, trans, ecu. Possibly, a lot more is going to be really expensive compared to a custom setup. It would be easier to just buy the Nismo sentra - No one has really broke into the turbo realm with the Versa besides the Fox Marketing Versa. Bob did the supercharger route however, theres no date for a production bolt on kit yet. I still firmly believe a custom turbo setup is going to be the way to go. Fab shops build exhaust manifolds all the time. A custom manifold can be had for around $750, another $1,000 +/- for a turbo, plus custom intercooler piping, downpipe, injectors, and tuning. Making power isnt cheap.

I would still like to see more stuff produced for the MR18/MR20... Rather than swapping motors - etc.. so soon.
Ive looked into a 2.0 sentra swap but as far as power I'm not too desperate. Just a little more umph is all I'm looking for. For now ill stick to exterior mods
Frankly i would just go with rear mount turbo... there's enough room under the tunnel for piping, it would be tight and ground clearance would be reduced but it will work. My plan is to get a junk MR20 block, bore it to a 2.2L and go 12:1, (approx 0.040 over) then turbo it when money is available. I'd do it now but my main priority is to get my 928 done first. I'm planning to use a Garrett 2056V turbo, stock vane actuator is for 25PSI but you can just change spring tension for lower boost regulation AFAIK. I still have to measure EGT differential from front to back to see if it cools down enough by the rear muffler area to use a VGT turbo, i'd like to use a VGT though to combat lag in a rear mount setup.

MR20 B16 guys have made it to 400WHP... i just need to start doing. Too much speculation and "well maybe this and maybe that" about the MR18's.

It would be a revised set up LSD, stock turbo, no big issues. Plus you get a fresh engine and transmission, that's still a 6 speed
